Fried Cubed Pork Steaks, Greenbeans and Yellow Squash & Zucchini cooked in an Air Fryer.
The Pork Cubed Steaks were bought by kind of accident. My son had mentioned that we hadn’t had cubed steaks in a long time. (He was talking about beef cubes steaks.). At the grocery store I saw the “cubed steaks” and decided to get them and not really paying attention that they were pork. This turned out to be a happy mistake.
For the steaks, I coated them in a little flour. I put a little flour on a plate and coated both sides before putting them in a lightly sprayed pan. (I use vegetable oil spray.) I had my pan turned to high to start with and turned it to medium once it started cooking. I salted and peppered one side of the steaks. Once I felt it was brown enough on the one side, I flipped them over to finish cooking. I had two pans going, one was nonstick and one cast iron. Both turned out great and the pork was tender enough to eat with a fork.
For sides I cooked some greenbeans. I usually can my greenbeans in the summer, but for the sake of being able to show how I prepare this, I used 2 cans of greenbeans and a pack of ham seasoning. (No calories and fat.). Boil the greenbeans and seasoning down until there is not much of the bean juice left. Regular canned greenbeans from the store work just as good as some I can and These taste SO Good!!
For my second side dish, I prepared yellow squash & zucchini,. I cut the squash and zucchini up in slices and added onion and put them in my air fryer. I spritzed them with vegetable oil and salt and pepper. I put them in the air fryer on 400 degrees (or French fry setting) for 12 minutes and let it go.
After the 12 minutes, I stirred them up, spritzed them again with oil and added more salt and pepper. I put them on for 6 minutes.
I kept repeating the above every 6 minutes (minus additional salt and pepper) until they were done enough for me. For the amount I had, it was about 30 minutes before they were done.
The entire meal turned out fantastic!
