Ground beef patties with mushroom sauce

My sweet Mother-in-law introduced me to this recipe for ground beef patties covered in mushroom sauce / gravy. It is super easy, quick and delicious!

Ingredients:

Ground beef or Ground chuck (your favorite pre- made patty or fresh)

Flour

Cream of mushroom soup

Salt & pepper

Either make your ground beef patties or use pre-made patties. This time, and for the first time, I used frozen patties. I put some self rising flour in a bowl and floured each patty. Note: My mother in law always floured her ground beef patties, and my husband likes them that way because it is kind of like a country fried steak, but it is not required. Both flouring and not taste great.

Next I sprayed a little vegetable oil on my pan and added each floured patty to the pan and then added salt and pepper (to taste).

Next I turned the pan on high and got it started cooking. I turned it down to medium after it was starting to cook well. Once browned on one side, turn the patty over and browned the other side.

My husband likes his ground beef patty separate from the mushroom gravy, so I took the patties up and drained most of the grease off, leaving bits of ground beef on the pan.

Next I added the cream of mushroom soup and some water to thin it out and make it more like a gravy. (How much water depends on how thick or thin you like your gravy / sauce)

Cook the cream of mushroom soup until you have the correct thickness and temperature you want.

That is it! How simple! We serve with rice because the mushroom sauce is also so good on rice.

Ground beef patty with mushroom gravy, rice with gravy on top, green beans from the garden and pickled beets.
So good!!
