Homemade Dry Laundry Detergent
If you like saving money, making your own laundry detergent is an easy way to save. It's not hard, it does a great job on your clothes and you definitely get more bang for your buck!
Ingredients Needed:
3 Bars of Fels Naptha Soap (5.5 oz)
1 box of Super Arm & Hammer Laundry Booster Washing Soda (3 lbs & 7 oz)
1 Box of Borax (4 lbs & 12 Oz)
1 Container of Oxi Clean (5 lbs from - Use 1/3 of Container)
Optional: For a different scent, you can add Downy Unstoppables or Purex Crystals.
If you want to try it for a little while before you commit for months, you can half the recipe.
1. Grate the bar of soap manually or use a food processor until finely ground.
2. In a large bowl, mix 1 box Laundry Booster washing soda, 1 box Borax, 3 bars grated soap and 1/3 container Oxi-Clean... That's It!
Store in a closed container. (I re-cycle coffee containers, large creamer containers, old dry laundry detergent containers, etc. and put my own label on them.)
Use 2 Tablespoons per load of laundry. (If you feel you need more, use up to 1/4 c.) Perfect for HE machines. (I measured 2 tablespoons out and made a line on an old laundry measuring cup.)
It works Great!!
