Using Cricut to add a Vinyl Label to a Tumbler Cup

I received a Cricut Explore Air 2 for Christmas and finally took it out of the box this weekend! My daughter came over and we decided we would make a Vinyl label for my smaller tumbler. This was going to be fun!!

The first thing we did was decide what we wanted the label to say. Actually that was the hardest part. Did we want initials, did we want a picture or a cute saying?? In the end a cute saying with a picture won out. We found a saying we thought was cute, but didn't like how it was pictured, so we created our own label and didn't bother with one already made. We picked the font we liked, put the words in the computer, added the picture we liked, re-sized it all, made sure to "Weld" it and we were in business.
We moved the project to the top of the screen, as this was the first time we were using this sheet of vinyl and made it the size we wanted. Next came picking out the vinyl color (make sure to use permanent vinyl). Once we had the color we liked, it was time for the magic machine to begin. we put the vinyl on the Cutting Mat, put it all on the Cricut and we were ready to go.
Time to Start..

So far so good!

We cut our project off the large piece of vinyl and peeled off the part of the Vinyl that we weren’t going to be using, which included getting out the tiny pieces that needed to also come off.

Next we cut out and added the transfer paper. (Remember, after you have finished your project to save this transfer paper as you can re-use it several times.)
Next we made sure our Vinyl project was stuck really well to the transfer paper and then we took the transfer off the cutting board and started carefully taking the backing off. Note: You are supposed to pay attention to the grid lines, which I/we didn't do this time. OOPS! Watching the grid lines is supposed to help guide you and make your project straight when putting the transfer on items.

Make sure that if part of your label comes up that you quickly put the letter back down and that you include all dots to your "i", etc. Next We put a couple of items under the tumbler to keep it steady....
Now time to transfer the label.

Looking good!!! We pressed the letters on the cup real well and then peeled off the transfer paper and then... Finished Product.

Yay we did it!!! Good luck with your project!!
